OMG! Last Day to Order & a Punch Potpourri Project!

Hi everyone!  I can't believe that today is the last day to order from the Stampin Up 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog!  I LOVE, LOVE the Hostess Level 1 set Punch Potpourri, so I wanted to use it one more time.  I got the idea for this Post-It Note holder from a fellow demonstrator; Angie - thanks Angie!  The piece of Peach Parfait cardstock for the holder measures 3 3/8" x 7" and it's scored at 3 3/8" from both ends to create a width of 1/4" and a holder size of 3 3/8" square.  I adhered a half a packet of Post-It notes into each holder.

I die cut the retiring Sunny Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) using the Square Scallop Duo die; love it and the DSP too!  I also used Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, and Whisper White cardstock.  Used the rock n roll technique on the butterfly with Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade classic ink then punched it out with the butterly punch.  The Poppy Parade paper ribbon was punched out with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch.  Finally, I added some SU Rhinestones to the butterfly for some BLING!

Just as a reminder; you won't be able to order from the NEW 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog until noon on July 1st, SU will be doing a system conversion until that time.  Please visit tomorrow for my Frequent Buyer plan and thanks for visiting!

Two Tag Die 4th of July Treat Holders

This was one of the projects my guests made at my Open House over the weekend.  It's a cute treat holder made using 2 of the large tags die cut from the Two Tags Big Shot Die.  On one of the holders I used Night of Navy and Real Red and on the other holder I used Night of Navy and Poppy Parade.  I put the Red Glimmer Paper star on the Poppy Parade treat holder because it matched that color combo better.

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

June "Goodbye, Hello" Open House

I'm having my "Goodbye, Hello" Open House this weekend.  I'll be giving each of my customers the NEW 2011-2012 Ideal Book & Catalog, a NEW In Color Chart, and a CUTE Owl Punch bookmark.  They're also going to get to make a couple of cute and fast projects that I'll share with you later.

If you're a Stampin' Up Demonstrator and would like to use my 2011-2013 In Color Chart, you can get a copy by going to Stampin' Connection> Stampin' Discuss> Stampin News, then search New Catalog Sales Tools; I posted an Excel file and Jean Fitch was kind enough to convert it into a PDF file, so you have access to both.   Stampin' Up doesn't have this chart available yet, so I created my own.  Contact me if you have any problems or questions.

Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

Last Chance Reminder/Update

Stampin Up just let us know that the RETIRING STAMP SET LIST is missing this background stamp called Simple Birthday found on page 142.  The cupcake is adorable and can be used as shown above or with the "thank you" information shown in the card below.  Since this is a background stamp, the cupcake is large (about 4" x 5").
Below is an example of another cute stamp set that is retiring, Pun Fun.  It has several cute images in the set and is great for full size cards or 3x3 note cards.
Supplies to make the above cards can be found at http://www.stampinup.com/ under the Projects & Techniques Tab, then go to the cards and the gifts sections.

Click for the RETIRING STAMP SET LIST or for the RETIRING ACCESSORIES LIST and you can order any of these items at my ONLINE store HERE, just go to "Shop Now".  Please contact me if you have any questions and thanks for visiting!

Sweet Summer 3x3 Note Cards and Tote

Good Monday to everyone!  I hope you all had a great Father's Day weekend and got some grilling done!  I pulled out most of my retiring stuff, but WOW did I find a lot of other stuff I haven't used; cleaning out a room is a challenge!  You know how you buy something and think I'll get to it, but you never do, then you feel guilty about spending the money to buy it, so you keep it even though you're not going to use it?  This was some of my experience this past week.  I've got some stuff I bought from QVC before I became a Stampin' Up Demonstrator that I don't know what to do with.  I've got a lot of Donna Dewberry Paint Kits that are wonderful, but I'm just not going to use.  Anyone have any suggestions???

Anyway, I forgot that I didn't post this cute 3x3 Card Tote.  The new Scallop Squares Duo die (in the Summer Mini Catalog) was used for the front panel of the box and to make the 2 note cards above (3x3 size).  This is really a great die!  The box pattern I used leaves a cool fold pattern at the sides, but if you don't like the crossed/pleated look, you can change up the pattern (see below).

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Sweet Summer (SAB set)
Paper: Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, and Whisper White
Ink:  Concord Crush, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and Basic Black
Accessories: Glimmer Brads, 2-way glue and Dazzling Diamonds, Blender Pen, Mini Envelops, 1/8" Daffodil Taffeta ribbon, Dimensionals, Crop-o-dile, Sticky Strip, Pear Pizzazz Poly Twill ribbon, Big Shot machine, and Scallops Square Duo Die.

Below is the pattern I used to make the box; I've seen it everywhere, I just changed the measurements to suit my needs.  If you don't like the cross/pleat look on the side of the tote, instead of adding the extra diagonal scores in each corner, you can cut slits on the 2 middle score lines on both sides of the pattern.  The pattern below calls for no cutting, but if you don't like the folds and you cut slits, you'll need to start at the edge of the paper and cut into the box to the 2 1/2" score line on one side and the 6" score line on the other.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and you can order any of the items to make this project at my ONLINE store here by clicking on Shop Now.  You can order everything, but the stamp set, it was offered only during Sale-a-Bration.  Thanks for visiting!

Gift Card Holder and Busy Week.....

Good morning everyone!  I've been busy this week getting my craft room ready for the transition to the new catalog.  I've been pulling out all the retired stamps and accessories and trying to get organized.  While I was cleaning stuff out I found this card I made a couple of years ago that I really liked.  It's a gift card holder made using the Big Shot Scallop Circle Die.

To make the card, you'll put your standard sized card on the die so that the folded edge is at the top of the die and exposes 4 "hills" (see pictures below).  After you die cut the card base, you'll need to die cut a piece of Designer Series Paper that measures about 2 1/2" x 5" and adhere it to the inside of the card to make a pocket to hold the gift card (you should be able to cover about 14 "hills" with the Designer Paper).

Thanks for visiting and I'll be posting my retired stamps for sale at ridiculously great prices soon!

Punch Potpourri Bird Card

Hi everyone!  I'm sorry I didn't post on Wednesday, but I started a couple of new medications and I'm having a rough time getting used to them.  Medications can help some things, but the side effects can ruin others!

Anyway, I wanted to post this card today since it uses another retiring stamp set, Punch Potpourri; Level 1 hostess set.  This set is GREAT!  This is one of those sets I won't get rid of even though it's retiring!  To color the background, I used a brayer to apply ink to the inside of the embossing folder; really easy and really pretty.

Supplies:
Stamp Set:  Punch Potpourri and Elements of Style.
Ink: Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler ink pads, More Mustard and Black markers.
Paper: Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke, Whisper White and PlayDate DSP.
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Pearls, Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, Two-step Bird Punch, Circle Scissor, Big Shot machine, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder, Brayer, Dimensionals, and SNAIL.

Don't forget, you can order any of the items used to make this project here; just click on "Shop Now".  Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend!

Great Friend Stamp Set Samples

Here are some examples of projects I made with the retiring stamp set Great Friend.  The butterfly in this set is beautiful; I'm going to miss this set!

I posted the project below in early 2010; you can find the blog post here.  This gift set includes 4 3x3 gift cards with envelops and 3 covered Hershey's Nuggets.  I put a sleeve around the gift box using SU's medium window sheets.

Don't forget to check my June 1st post here to find the Retiring Stamp Set list and Retiring Accessories list.  Thanks for visiting!

Examples of Retiring Stamp Sets

These first 2 examples use the retiring stamp set called Dreams Du Jour.  I've always loved this stamp set for the expression and the beautiful butterfly in it.  Supplies for these examples can be found here at the Stampin Up website under Projects.

The next example uses the Chic Boutique stamp set.  This is a really fun and versatile set with the Eiffel Tower, bird in a cage, and dress maker model (I've seen people add a dress to the model and it's darn cute!).  You can find the supplies here.

The final example is a cute tag and ribbon box using the Sparkly and Bright stamp set.  The images of the reindeer and tree are my favorites!  You can find the supplies used here and you can find the pattern for the box here.  The pattern link is the one Stampin' Up prepared and provided to us; the "outside of box" pattern holds the ribbon and the "inside of box" pattern.  I don't know if you can tell, but the tags sit on top of the box insert.

Well, thanks for visiting!  I'm cleaning out my craft room getting all of my retired items pulled out to make room for the new stuff to come!  I'll be putting everything on sale next month, so check back for more details.  Since I need the money, everything will be GREATLY discounted!  To see a full list of the Retiring Stamp Sets and Accessories, please look at my previous blog post dated Wednesday, June 1st.
