Spice Cake DSP Gift Card Set

Good morning everyone!  First, I would like to thank Julie, DawnKathleen, Kadie, Bit's Grandma, Rachel, and Donna for taking the time to leave me a comment; I can't thank you all enough for the encouragement and nice words!!  The comments I got gave me the impression that what I've been making and showing is in line with what people want to see, I'll be more careful to include measurements.  In fact, below are the templates with measurements to make the above Card Gift box (holds full sized cards).

Box Body:

The box body is made from a full sheet of cardstock measuring 8 1/2" x 11".  You score on the vertical side at 1 1/4" and 7 1/4" then you turn the cardstock and score on the horizontal side at 4 7/8" and 6 1/8".  This gives you a box that is 6" wide by 4 7/8" tall by 1 1/4" deep.  The design for this box came from fellow demonstrator, France Martin; she was kind enough to share her idea; thank you France!  I changed the measurements and colors, but I decorated the box just like she did because it was so beautiful; I love this Spice Cake DSP!

Box Flap:

The box flap (top closure) is made from a piece of cardstock measuring 6" x 5 3/8"; you score on the vertical side at 2" and 3 3/8".  Yes, all this scoring is made easy with the NEW SIMPLY SCORED TOOL!  Once the flap is scored, you attach it to the box using Sticky Strip then apply a velcro disk under the rosette as a box closure.

The paper rosette or lollie was made using a piece of DSP measuring 1 1/4" x 12" and scored at every 1/4" interval.  I glued the rosette together using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive; I didn't need to use a hot glue gun.  If you keep your rosettes tight after you accordian fold them; they are easy to handle.  One of my customer's teenage daughter made this rosette and had it glued together in no time!  I made the flower center from cardstock and the new In Color brads.  The cards in this set are simple and quick and make a GREAT gift!

Supplies:
Stamps: Perfect Punches
Inks: Soft Suede
Paper: Soft Suede, Pool Party, Very Vanilla, More Mustard, and Spice Cake Deigner Paper.
Accessories: Big Shot machine, Fun Flowers Die, Polka Dot embossing folder, Lattice embossing folder, large oval punch, modern label punch, scallop oval punch, several circle punches, Lace Ribbon border punch, anitque brads, In Color brads, paper piercer, mat pack, Sticky Strip, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimenstionals, Pool Party ruffled ribbon, vanilla seam binding ribbon, Simply Scored tool, and SNAIL.

Audience Survey - input needed!

Good Monday everyone!  I hope you enjoyed the video tutorial I posted on Saturday!  I've noticed that I have a few "regulars" who visit my blog and I'm trying to figure out what kind of audience I have.  What I want to know is how best to direct my blog efforts.  So, I'm wondering, are my followers mostly other SU demonstrators or SU customers?  Do you all want to see more technique videos like the one I did using glitter and window sheets, or would you like to see card making or 3-D project ideas.  I'm trying to figure out what kind of posting and videos to make, so you're input would be appreciated!

I know that most people never want to leave a comment, but I'm really hoping that you regulars take a minute to let me know what you're hoping to see when you visit my blog.  So thanks in advance for your input and for letting me know if you're a demonstrator or a customer - feel free to email me your info if you'd rather not leave a comment below!

Hersey Nugget Holder - Video Tutorial

Here's a short video showing you how to make a box that holds 7 Hershey Nugget chocolates. It's great as a party favor or as a gift. With the It's a Wrap Stamp Set, you can customize it for weddings, birthdays, etc! And with the stamp set It's a Wrap Holidays in the Holiday Mini Catalog, you can add some fun for Halloween, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc!

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: It's a Wrap
Ink: Black, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, and Not Quite Navy.
Paper: Basic Black and Window Sheets
Accessories: Organza ribbon, Sticky Strip, Simply Scored, and Paper Snips.

Measurements:
Box Base: 3 9/16" x 9", score at 1/2" and 1 1/8" on all 4 sides.
Box Lid: 2 1/2" x 7 15/16", score at 5/8" on all 4 sides.

MEASUREMENT NOTE: Depending on how you fold on your score lines or how your paper cutter works, you may have to work with the "smidge" factor.  For example, you may want to try cutting the box lid at 2 1/2" x 8" and see if that sits in your box better.  It'll all depend on you and your cutter.

Thanks for visiting and for those who want to know, my mom made it over the "fever" hump, but now she's struggling with the side effects of the antibiotics!  Why is it that something may help, but it can hurt you too?!

If anyone wants to know.....

I've not worked on anything since the weekend because my mother's been sick; she's fighting a couple of really bad infections.  I think some of you know that I take care of my paralyzed mother, so when you don't see me blogging, it's probably because she's not well.  Last week I met with my Hostess Clubs and I worked on Holiday Class projects and didn't spend enough time with her, and see what happened!  So, lesson learned, spend more time with mom!

Thanks for visiting and as soon as mom gets better I'll post another video.  Also, mom and I appreciate your prayers for her speedy recovery!  You know how it goes, when mom's happy everyone's happy!

New 1" x 8" Cellophane Bags decorated for Halloween & Breast Cancer Awareness

I made these for my Hostess Club members.  I still have more to make, but they are fast to put together, so it won't take me too long!  I used glitter and Heat and Stick Powder on all three toppers. I even used the awesome Red Glimmer Paper for the Heart Disease Awareness topper; I wish we had glimmer paper in more colors!

I filled the Breast Cancer Awareness and Heart Disease Awareness bags with M&M's and I filled the halloween bag with candy corn; they worked great!  I sponged around the edges of the halloween and Breast Cancer toppers, but I don't think it really shows up in the pictures.

Also, have you been to the Clearance Rack in the online store lately? There are some great deals on discontinued Stampin’ Up! products. Check them out here; and don't forget to select me as your Demonstrator when you order at Stampin' Up's online store!  Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful Season Stamp Set with Frostwood Lodge Paper

Here's a card I've been working on for our Sideline Demonstrator Meeting Swap.  I LOVE this Beautiful Season stamp set; the holly and chickadee are awesome!  I wanted to color the leaves using Old Olive, but that color clashed with the Frostwood Lodge paper, so I used Garden Green instead.  Inside I stamped the phrase included with the stamp set: "May your season be Blessed with all things bright & beautiful".  Also, you can't see it well in the photo, but I used Crumb Cake around the image to give it a shadow.

Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful Season
Paper: Frostwood Lodge DSP, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espress, Whisper White.
Ink: Black Stazon, Early Espresso, Garden Green, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, More Mustard.
Accessories: Big Shot machine, Lattice Embossing Folder, 1/8" Espresso Taffeta ribbon, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, and SNAIL.

Thanks for visiting & have a great weekend!
