Stampin Up 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog Carryover Items List

UPDATE 5/1/12: I called Demonstrator support again and the rep explained that the Mixed Bunch stamp set, the Apothecary Art stamp set, the Loving Thoughts stamp set, the Love & Laughter stamp set, the Baby Prints stamp set, and the Mouthwatering stamp set are being CARRIED OVER to the NEW 2012-2013 Annual Catalog.  So, they are not included on this list because they are not available to purchase until the New Annual Catalog starts June 1st.  What is not on this list but can currently be purchased is the Simply Scored Tool (item #122334) and the Diagonal Scoring Tool (item #125586).  Finally, Demonstrator Support confirmed that all the Accessories and Big Shot Dies listed above are getting carried to the NEW 2012-2013 Annual Catalog!  So, these are still a great "Sneak Peek" for us!

This is just a quick post to give you the Stampin Up 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog Carryover List.  I'll start posting projects tomorrow!  Happy Stamping!

Simply Soft Hostess Set Card

Here's the other card I made with the wonderful layout I showed you on Sunday. Completely different stamp set and paper gives you a completely different look!

I used Whisper White, Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder, and Lucky Limeade cardstock.  I stamped the flower outline from the Simply Soft Hostess Stamp Set using Stazon Black ink, then stamped the inside of the flower using Wisteria Wonder ink.  I dotted the centers of the flowers with my Concord Crush Marker and used Lucky Limeade ink refill and Blender Pen to color the leaves and stem.

As the final touch I added Pearls and stamped the "thank you" from the Short & Sweet Stamp Set.  Other items used: Big Shot Lattice Embossing Folder and Concord Crush Poly Stitched ribbon.
Give this CLEAN and SIMPLE layout a try, I know you'll love it!

Also, just a reminder that the Retired Accessories List is updated by 4:00pm MST daily, so take a look at the list before you order to make sure the items you want are still available!

Stampin' Up Retired Accessories Lists - OMG!!

Here's the Retiring Accessories List 12 pages long: click here to download the PDF version
(the list is long, but great news, some of the items are ON SALE!)

UPDATE:  I just talked to Demonstrator Support and was told that the Paper Snips and Craft Scissors were incorrectly included on the Retired Accessories List.  These 2 items will NOT be retired.

2nd UPDATE: Just wanted everyone to know that the Summer Smooches FABRIC BRADS are sold out  - darn, I loved those!

And here is the Retiring Decor Elements List: click here to download the PDF version

WARNING:  OMG - this list is long too!  All ink pads are on the Retiring Accessories List because the pads are being reconfigured.  Also, look for the * sign, this means that the item is being reconfigured.  Finally, read about the Stampin Write Marker, the craft pad, and the 12x12 cardstock changes below.

Per Stampn' Up:
"Get them before they are gone! The retired accessories and Definitely Decorative (including Décor Elements) lists are now available and won't stay around for long--these items are only available while supplies last!

When you look at the retired accessories list, you'll note that all of our Stampin' Pads are listed. This is for two reasons: (1) Craft Stampin' Pads will now only be available in black and white; and (2) we are introducing a new Firm Foam pad in our Classic Stampin' Pads with the 2012-2013 annual catalog.

The Firm Foam pads offer better ink coverage and, in turn, better stamped images.
In addition, please note the following about the new catalog:
  • Only select Stampin' Write Markers will be available individually (Stampin' Write Markers in color collections will continue to be offered)
  • 12" x 12" Textured Card Stock will no longer be offered
  • 12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections"
Bottom Line:  Hurry up and get what you want, because I don't know how long some will last!  I'm going to sit down and digest this list now because even I am overwhelmed!  Happy Wednesday!

Stampin Up Designer Cut Card

Isn't this card beautiful!  My upline, Carol Gilmore, shared this card with me.  I wanted to show it to remind everyone that April 30th is the last day you can order these Designer Cut Cards (item #125414) from the Occasions Mini Catalog on page 9.  You get 8 laser cut Very Vanilla cards (4 of 2 different designs) plus 8 Blushing Bride envelops.

These cards really are beautiful and easy to dress up!  Carol weaved Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding ribbon through the laser cut design then adhered flowers she punched out using the Boho Blossoms Punch with Blushing Bride and Baja Breeze cardstock.  She was clever and punched out flowers in Pear Pizzazz cardstock that she cut up and turned into leaves!  She also adhered a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Baja Breeze cardstock behind the front to really make the laser design pop.

The words are from the Apothecary Art stamp set (wood #125525 or clear #12552) and the frame around the words comes from the Tea Shoppe stamp set (wood #125545 or clear #125547); both in the Occasions Mini Catalog.  Other punches used are the Decorative Label Punch (item #120907), the Modern Label Punch (item #119849), and the Large Oval Punch (item #119855).  The final beautiful touch was the addition of Pearls (item #119247).

UPDATE: A big welcome to folks visiting from the PaperPunchAddiction blog!  Also, just wanted to let everyone know that the summer smooches FABRIC BRADS are sold out.

Don't forget to check back tomorrow for the Retired Accessories List.  These retiring accessories will only be available while supplies last, so make sure to place your order as soon as you decide what you want!  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Packed for Dad Card

I made this card for the son of a friend.  I used the Packed for Dad stamp in the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog with Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, and Whisper White cardstock.  I ran the background Chocolate Chip cardstock through the Big Shot using the Polka Dot Embossing Folder then sponged ink over the polka dots to enhance them.

I first used this layout on a swap card (I'll post that card later this week) and realized it's a great "go to" layout that works for any occasion!  Since this card was meant for a young man, I kept it clean and simple - I only used Stampin Dimensionals under the Baja Breeze "congratulations" layer when I adhered it to the Chocolate Chip background piece.  I made sure not to use any Dazzling Diamonds glitter either!

Have a great week and thanks for visiting!

Stampin' Up Video: Spreading Ink Technique

I'm trying to regroup and get it together, so in the meantime I thought you might like to watch this Stampin Up video! This video tutorial features Carrie Cudney demonstrating the Spreading Ink Technique.  Carrie used Glossy White Cardstock which looks great, but I would suggest using Shimmer White Cardstock first; it's easier to control the color and look on Shimmer White.  Once you tried using it a couple of times, then try using the Glossy White cardstock.  You'll want to let the flowers dry a few hours and even better to let them dry overnight.

Have a great day!

Onto the card of the day:

This is a card we made at Stamp Camp - it's a 6" x 6" card and it uses the New Elegant Bird Bigz Die (item #125593) in the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog.  I really think the project in the Mini Catalog doesn't do this die justice; it really is a beautiful bird!  We used the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch (item #118874) to make the flower in the top left corner and used the Hearts Framelits (item #125599) to die cut the hearts under the bird.

The leaves (from the Day of Gratitude Stamp Set item #120835 wood or #121148 clear) were embossed using VersaMark ink and Clear Embossing Powder then cut out and adhered under the bird.  The cardstock used is Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Lucky Limeade, and Very Vanilla.  We also used the Polka Dot Embossing Folder, the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set, and the Everyday Enchantment DSP.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and thanks for visiting!

Stampin Up Retired Lists to be issued soon plus other NEW Catalog Info!

I made this covered tin box for my sister using retired Designer Series Paper, then I filled it with cards that used retired stamp sets and accessories!  You can see the trend, right? Retired, right?  So, exciting news - SU will issue the Reitred Stamp Sets list on April 15th, and issue the Retired Accessories list on April 25th!  I will post the lists on my blog as soon as SU gives them to us.  Yes, I will stay awake until Midnight MST on the two days and if the list is published, I will post at midnight!

RETIRING INFO:  The Retiring Stamp Sets will be available until May 31st, but the Retiring Accessories will only be available Until Supplies Last.  I don't like to be rushed to buy things, but I've learned that if there's something I really want, I better buy it fast!  The Clearance Rack is a great example of that too; I wanted to buy more Raven ribbon; it was on the Clearance Rack for a couple of hours and Sold Out and I missed it!

We know that the current Catalog will end on May 31st and the 2010 In Colors (Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Concord Crush, and Blushing Bride) are retiring.  We also know that the Decor Elements vinyl wall decor line is retiring and the Simply Adorned jewelry line is retiring.  SU will probably offer charms in the future, but only with a Paper Crafting emphasis.  I really LOVE the Concord Crush and Pear Pizzazz colors, so I know I'll be stocking up on those.  So if any of you want a particular color or Decor Element (I really LOVE the Halloween ones!), I suggest you start making your list!

NEW CATALOG INFO:  The NEW 2012-2013 Annual Catalog will start June 1st and go through May 31, 2013.  It will have fewer pages because the NEW Semi-Annual Catalogs (Holiday Catalog and Spring Catalog) will be larger in size and hold more specialty items and season-specifric items that will be taken out of the Anuual Catalog.  For example, the Annual Catalog will still have some Christmas items, but not as many as there are now.  There will NOT be 3 Mini Catalogs anymore, instead we'll have 2 Semi-Annual Catalogs that run for 5 months instead of only 4 months  Yippee!  Especially happy are we that the Holiday Catalog will start August 1st!!!

So, here's my take: Since the New Annual Catalog is going to be smaller, I think the Retired Lists are going to be longer than usual.  I just thought I'd throw this out there because I don't want anyone to freak out when the lists are issued!  If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Stampin Up Petite Purse Die sample and Video Tutorial!

Here's a sample of the CUTE Petite Purse Bigz Die (item #125606) with the great Summer Smooches Fabric Brads (item #125589).  These are on sale this month - scroll down to the 4/1/12 post to see the Summer Smooch Sale Flyer.  To make the purse, I used the paper in the Spring Fever Simply Scrappin' Kit (item #124006) available in the Occasions Mini Catalog here.

I put 5 Hershey Nuggets in the purse-see photo below; 4 were put in vertically and 1 was put in horizontally. ADDED: The purse measures 3" across at the bottom and 2" across on the top (where the handles are).  It is 1 3/8" wide at the bottom and tapers down to about 1" wide at the top.  Finally, the purse is about 2" tall.

Below is the Stampin Up Video Tutorial showing you how to put the purse together.  Don't forget that if you're reading this through my "Email Subscriber" service, you'll need to click on the Post Title and get to my Blog to watch the video.
