Stampin' Up Just Thinking Card and June's MDS Calendar Wallpaper

You've probably seen these tent cards everywhere; this one measures the same as a full card - 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  The base of the card is in Riding Hood Red and measures 4-1/4" x 8"; when folded in half, it measures 4-1/4" x 4".  I used the Tasteful Trim XL Die for the cardstock piece under the ribbon.  The Just Thinking stamp used  is in the Spring Mini Catalog and it was designed to coordinate with the Windows Framelits.  The stamp is only available until May 31st as is the Twitterpated Designer Paper I used on the card's front.

Also, here's the FREE June 2013 computer wallpaper MDS design created by Stampin' Up.  You can download it by going here.

Stampin' Up Pinwheel Card and 2 Aviary Cards

Here's a card I made using the Pinwheel Sizzlet in the current Spring Mini Catalog.  The pinwheel measures about 2" x 2".  I added clouds using the Cupcake Builder Punch (I sponged them to help them stand out better) and the phrase is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.  The background paper is called Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Paper and it's also in the Spring Mini Catalog ending May 31st.  So, if you like the Pinwheel or the Sunshine paper, don't forget to order them before May 31st!

Here's another stamp set that will no longer be available after May 31st; Aviary.  The first card was CASE'd from fellow demonstrator, Becky Roberts (yes, she's awesome!).    Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Technique Tuesday – Piercing Pattern
from stampin' up blog   5/14/13

I loved the article below written by Melody H., Stampin' Up Concept Artist, and wanted to share it with you.  Have a great week!

Are you a fan of our paper-piercing tools? I know I am. I love that the templates are a quick and accurate way to add a bit of pattern and texture, and that they are designed to coordinate with so many of our punches and Framelits Dies.

The Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack has all of the basics. I used the template with the straight lines and the scallops to make my project, but I didn’t want just straight lines or scallops. I wanted the background of my card to be circles.

I could have used the template with the circles on it, but that would have been tedious and a bit more difficult getting the same circle lined up over and over again. Instead, I used the biggest scallop to make my circles.

Here’s how I did it:

  1. Draw a line down the center of your cardstock with a pencil, then line up the holes at the tips of the scallop along the line and pierce the scallop.

 2. Rotate your paper 180 degrees and line up the scallop on the template with the pierced scallop on your paper. Pierce the scallop to complete the circles.

 3. Line up the pierced holes with the template as shown above and pierce the scallop to start the next row of circles. Rotate your paper 180 degrees again and line up the template as shown in step 2. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you’ve filled the entire piece of cardstock with pierced circles.

4. Your cardstock should look like this when you’re done. Erase your pencil line and attach it to a card base; embellish your project as desired.
