Convention 2012 Recipe Card Swap and more

Convention was fun with an "I Am" theme, like "I Am "creative" or I Am "a card maniac".  Here's a picture of the Main Stage at Convention:

Below is a fun video showing Stampin' Up! employees "singing" the Convention theme song.  Don't forget, if you are one of my email subscribers, you will need to click over to my blog in order to view the video.

Also, I was in a recipe swap this year and here's my 6x6 recipe page. I used the Button Buddies stamp with Cajun Craze and Comfort Cafe DSP. I really thought hard on how I could make the little piggy look cute using the Naturals Buttons!

Here are some more Convention pictures - various SU display boards:

Personal Note:  I've been struggling this past month trying to get "post death" stuff done.  My husband was in the middle of a large project when he passed away, that I've ended up having to continue and hopefully finish.  I'm thinking I'll be done with it by the end of August and I can tell you I will be relieved!  When I was at Convention, all I could think was "I Am"... my word was "devastated", "confused", "overwhelmed"...  I very much enjoyed going, but I've just felt kind of numb since it all happened a couple of months ago.  I continue to appreciate your well wishes and I thank you all who keep me in your prayers.

Flurry of August Activity at Stampin' Up!

August 1st was the start of the WONDERFUL new HOLIDAY CATALOG; it is filled with great stamp sets, NEW BUNDLE offerings, Framelits, paper, accessories, and more! Look through it by clicking below.

Here is a sample of the great HALLOWEEN Kit in the Holiday Mini on page 27. I used the glassine bag, twine, and tag from the Ghoulish Goolies Designer Kit (item #126914) and added the stamped images from the Monster Munchies Stamp Set on page 26 (wood item #127904 or clear item #127907). As an added decorative touch I put the skull on a Stampin Dimensional, added Dazzling Diamonds, and added the ruffle around the tag using the new 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon on page 26 (item #127837). The bag was easy and quick to put together - I fit 3 pieces of the fun sized candy inside the bag - yummy!

And speaking of Halloween..... Stanpin' Up! is offering a great Sign Up Recruiting Special for August.  Here's the flyer showing the great Halloween Kit you get when you sign up.  I saw the goodies you get in the Kit at Convention and I can tell you honestly that I REALLY want the Kit myself!  It is more gorgeous in person than in the photo; the spider web in the top left corner is die cut from silver glimmer paper and looks awesome!

Happy Fourth of July!

First, I want to thank everyone who left a comment and who emailed me - all your encouragement and prayers are appreciated and needed!  As the shock of my husband's death is wearing off and the reality of him not being here is setting in, I find myself more depressed, confused, and tired from lack of sleep.  I'm devastated and so very sad.  Last night I had a dream that he had "come back" to me, and even though it felt great in my dream, I was more sad when I woke up because I know he'll never come back.  I truly love him and I know it will take time to heal this deep wound.

Second (and on a lighter note), I want to thank my upline, my fellow demonstrators (sidelines), and some customers for helping me go to Stampin' Up's Convention later this month!  I didn't have any life insurance on my husband and he was the only one working since I take care of my mother, so there was no money for me to be able to go to Convention.  But, thanks to all these wonderful ladies (and gentleman) chipping in, I am now able to attend.  I still wasn't sure if I should go, but my group grief counselor thought it would be helpful for me to get out of the house where my husband passed away.  So, I'll be sharing my swap cards with you as soon as I get them made,  which better be fast!

Finally, I want to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!  I love this country and appreciate all the opportunity I've been able to have here.  So, God Bless to you and your families and I hope you have a fun and safe holiday celebration today!

Sad and unexpected news....

Hello everyone,  I am still in shock over what has happened to me and my family.  My husband passed away very unexpectly last weekend and I have been dealing with so many things I thought I would never be doing at my age.  As many of you know, my mother has been ill for the past 6 years, so I was always preparing for her passing away.  I never thought I would be dealing with my husband's passing.  I'm now a young widow and my heart is broken and empty.  My husband was the love of my life and my best friend.  I will miss him dearly.  Thank you for your prayers through this difficult time.

I will hopefully get back to blogging when I can keep myself together.  God bless you all and remember to not take anyone for granted and be sure to spend time with your loved ones.
