Christmas Card using Stampin' Up's Santa's List stamp set

Here's a card made by Mercedes Weber that was on the Stampin' Up Blog; Mercedes is another member of Stampin' Up's Artisan Design Team and she is a great talent too!  I'm so glad SU gets a group like this together; the designers give us great ideas and motivation!

Happy 4th of July!! Here's a Rosette/Lolli to enjoy

 

This is a 4th of July Rosette or Lolli that my Hostess Club members made.  It's just a fun table accent!  

 

Cardstock: Real Red, Pacific Point, and Whisper White.  Also, Red & Silver Glimmer Paper.

Big Shot dies used: Rosette Bigz XL die and the Paper Doily Sizzlet. 

Stamp set: Simply Stars.

Other: various circle punches and retired star punches; Pacific Point Stitched Grosgrain ribbon, Sticky Strip, hot glue gun, and Stampin' Dimensionals.

 

PERSONAL NOTE:  I am always happy to celebrate this day because of what it means to me.  I feel fortunate to have been born and live in this wonderful country filled with people who have spirit and imagination.  All that we are able to do today is because brave people have fought for the freedom for us to be able to do so.  Soldiers fighting in battle, suffragettes fighting for woman's right to vote, and so much more.  I don't always agree with what everyone has to say, but I am thankful everyday that we have the freedom to be able to say it!   Have a wonderful day with your family!

I can’t believe how fast Easter is coming up this year! My calendar is quickly filling up with egg hunts, classroom parties, and family dinners—so I’ve been playing with some different ideas for little favors and treats. Today, I wanted to share one of my favorites with you!






Didn’t he turn out cute? Plus he’s really simple and quick to put together.

I had some More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper left over from Valentine’s Day projects, so I used that and Naturals Ivory Cardstock. I stamped my cardstock with the Distressed Dots Background Stamp and embossed it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder to give it some texture.

After that, I used a few dies and punches to build my Easter Bunny. Here is a list of the parts you’ll need:
Body: Ovals Collection Framelits Dies (I used the fourth from the smallest)
Hands: Ovals Collection Framelits Dies (smallest oval cut in half)
Feet: Ovals Collection Framelits Dies (smallest oval cut in half)
Ears: Ovals Collection Framelits Dies (smallest oval) and Large Oval Punch
Nose: Small Heart Punch (trim off the top edge of the heart)
Eyes: Owl Punch
Whiskers: Pool Party Baker’s Twine
Egg: Small Oval Punch, Owl Punch (heart), Bitty Banners Framelits Die (banner)
Basket: Petite Purse Bigz L Die

Stampin' Up Pinwheel Cupcake Toppers

I saw this on the Stampin' Up Blog last week and forgot to post it; I just LOVE cupcakes and these are a great idea!

Altered Stampin' Up Mini Milk Carton Die Tutorial

A Concept Artist, Melody, at Stampin' Up created this wonderful milk carton by using Stampin' Up's Big Shot Milk Carton die in a different way.  The Milk Carton is a fun Die because you can make it taller, shorter, and wider; there are lots of possibilities. Melody chose to go wider this time. Here’s how she put it together. 



Step 1: Cut out two milk cartons, fold on the lines as shown, and cut off two panels as shown.

Step 2: Apply Sticky Strip to the tabs on both of the milk cartons.

Step 3: Attach the half milk carton to the full milk carton, then fold the bottom flaps under the top as shown. Close the milk carton with the Sticky Strip on the other tab. Fold the bottom panels under and secure together with SNAIL Adhesive.

Step 4: Take the half of the milk carton that was cut off and cut 3" from one of the panels.

Step 5: Use Sticky Strip to stick the 3" panel to the bottom of the milk carton to make it sturdier.

Step 6: Fill your carton with treats and close the top with Sticky Strip, a mini clothespin, or other closure of your choice.

These adorable little gift boxes would be great for a party favor, a quick thank you treat, or a birthday gift. What else would you do with a tiny paper airplane?  To make the small airplane on the tag, Melody used a 2-1/4" x 2-1/2" rectangular piece of paper.

Stampin' Up Petite Pocket Die Bath Salts Pouch

Here's a cute Bath Salts Pouch a designer at Stampin' Up created. It uses some great NEW Sale-a-bration products!  I've included the step-by-step tutorial for it. Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Loving Thoughts Stamp Set and Madison Avenue Stamp Set Paper: Island Indigo, Shimmery White, and Summer Starfruit Cardstock Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper Ink: Island Indigo and Rick Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pads Accessories and Tools: Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder, Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Linen Thread, In Color Dahlias, Stampin' Dimensionals, Extra-Large Oval Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Big Shot, Petite Pocket Bigz XL Die, Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Simply Scored, & Bath salts

Instructions:

1. Using the Big Shot and the Petite Pocket Bigz Die, cut two pockets from the Island Indigo Cardstock. Cut off the bottom flaps.  NOTE: I'm not sure about cutting the bottom flaps of both pieces; I think you'll need to fiddle with this part.  I'll call SU later to see if I can find out exactly what was done.
2. Using the Big Shot and the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, emboss the Island Indigo Cardstock. Punch an oval shape in the Island Indigo Cardstock using the Extra-Large Oval Punch. Assemble the pocket.
3. Punch a scallop circle in the pocket "handles" using the scallop circle shape in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. Insert the bath salts package.
4. Thread the Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon through the hole and tie to secure the handles.
5. Punch two scallop circles from the Summer Starfruit Cardstock using the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch. Set them aside.
6. Score Designer Series Paper strip every 1/4" using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Adhere the ends of the cardstock together.
7. Holding the cardstock with two hands, twist one edge of the strip into the center to create a flower shape.
8. Adhere a Summer Starfruit scallop circle to one side of the accordion flower using a Glue Dot.
9. Stamp the sentiment in Island Indigo Ink on Shimmery White Cardstock. Cover the image with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set. Cut the stamped cardstock into a banner shape, fold it in half, and adhere it to the back of the Summer Starfruit scallop circle. Adhere the Summer Starfruit scallop circle to the accordion flower.
10. Punch a circle from Island Indigo Cardstock using the 1-3/8" Circle Punch. Set aside.
11. Stamp the wreath image in Rich Razzleberry ink on Shimmery White Cardstock. Cover the image with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set. Punch out the wreath image using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Adhere the wreath to the Island Indigo circle.
12. Stamp the four-petal flowers image in Island Indigo ink on Shimmery White Cardstock. Cover the image with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set. Cut out one flower using Paper Snips and adhere it to the center of the wreath image.
13. Adhere the In Color Dahlia to the four-petal flowers image. Adhere the Island Indigo circle accent to the Summer Starfruit scallop circle using a Stampin' Dimensional.
14. Punch a hole on the edge of the accordion flower using the 1/16" Circle Punch, thread Linen Thread through the hole, and tie it to the Summer Starfruit 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Petite Pocket XL Die 2013 New Years Treat Holder

This beautiful treat holder was designed by Angie B, a concept artist at Stampin' Up (she didn't include her last name on the blog post).  I found it when I was scrolling through the NEW Stampin' Up Blog.  Click HERE to go to the blog, then scroll down to December 20th to see how Angie made this terrific project.  I know I'll be making several of these for July 4th celebrations!

Day 8 - Christmas Blessings Card and a SNEAK PEAK Stampin' Up Video featuring the All Dressed Up Bundle!

 

This is a Christmas card my Hostess Club members made using the Christmas Blessings Stamp Set.  Colors of cardstock are Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, and Whisper White.  I used the Aquapainter with Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, and Daffodil Delight classic ink to color the poinsettas.  Of course, there is Dazzling Diamonds glitter in the centers of the flowers and the Cherry Cobbler embossed background!

And here's another SNEAK PEAK Stampin' Up video showcasing the new All Dressed Up bundle including a Stamp Set, Framelits and Dies in the upcoming Spring Mini Catalog starting January 3, 2013. They are so CUTE!

Stampin' Up Wonderfall Card and Turkey Placecard Holder

 

This was a fall/Thanksgiving card my Club members made using the Wonderfall Stamp Set and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die.  The phrase came from the Petite Pairs stamp set.  I used the Early Espresso Core'dinations cardstock for the background layer and ran it through the Woodgrain Embossing Folder then sanded it for the "tree" look.  The colors of ink are Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, Old Olive, and Cajun Craze.  I don't know if you can tell, but the leaves were first stamped in one color, like Daffodil Delight, then the edges of the stamp were rolled in a darker color, like More Mustard; the Rock and Roll technique.  And for the final touches, I used the Champagne Glimmer Paper and a Naturals button with Linen Thread.

 

Below are pictures of the super cute Turkey placecard holder my fellow demonstrator, Donna Rolston, made using Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper.  She said she cut her strips of paper at 1-1/2" x 12", 2" x 12", and 2-1/2" x 12".  She then used the Scallop Edge punch for the design and scored at each scallop for this wonderful shape.  She got the turkey body somewhere online then traced it and cut it out from Early Espresso cardstock.  Finally, she used Pearls for the eyes, she is one crafty woman!

Googly Ghouls Halloween Treat Holder

 

When I was looking through Shelli Gardner's Blog (www.soshelli.com), I saw these GREAT Halloween Treat Holders.  She made them using 2 die cuts from the Petite Pocket Big Shot Die; she adhered them together at the seams to form a pocket.  She stamped the images with the Googly Ghouls Stamp Set.  That's about all the info she gave about how she made the them, but feel free to contact me if you need more details.

Tweet Leaves Card with the Autumn Accents Die

I made this card for a swap using the "spotlighting" technique.  I really wanted the CUTE birdie to be the focus so I punched him out and layered him, then colored the image using Stampin Write Markers.  I ran the background cardstock piece through the Woodgrain Embossing folder then sponged on it to highlight the woodgrain.  Finally, I die cut the leaves, crunched them up, and sponged around them too. 

Supplies:
Stamp Sets: Tweet Leaves and Teeny Tiny Wishes (a great versatile stamp set!).
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake.
Ink: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Markers: Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red.
Accessories: Big Shot (a must have!), Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, Circles #2 Die, Stamp-a-ma-jig, 1/8" Daffodil taffeta ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals, SNAIL, and Stampin Sponges.

Stampin' Up Halloween Treat Holder made using the Petite Purse Die

PERSONAL Note:  I'm still working on my husband's last project, and I hope to be done by the middle of September.  Projects always end up taking longer than you think!  Last week was really difficult because it was his Birthday and the 3-month mark of his passing away.  I can tell you I cried rivers of tears last week.  Going to a weekly grief group is the only thing keeping me sane.  It helps to know that what I'm feeling is "normal".  So, thanks again to all of you who have prayed for me and who've taken the time to leave me lovely comments!

Bordering on Romance Mother's Day Card

I'm giving this card to my mom this weekend; I know she'll LOVE it!  I used the Stained Glass Technique on the flower image.  I embossed the image using White Embossing Powder and White Craft ink on one side of the Vellum Cardstock, then I used Markers to color on the back side of the image for that soft look.

I also embossed one of the flowers in the Mixed Bunch stamp set, punched it out using the Blossom Punch, then cut out 2 of the petals to have it look like a butterfly.  To color the Vellum Cardstock for the butterfly, I used my brayer to spread ink onto vellum, then let it dry thoroughly, flipped it over and embossed with White Craft Ink and White Embossing Powder.

Finally, I used a stamping sponge and the Pear Pizzazz ink pad and sponged color on the Pear background layer that I ran through the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder; this really gave the  layer an beautful enhanced look!

Card made with Elegant Bird Die & Heart Framelits

Onto the card of the day: 

This is a card we made at Stamp Camp - it's a 6" x 6" card and it uses the New Elegant Bird Bigz Die (item #125593) in the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog.  I really think the project in the Mini Catalog doesn't do this die justice; it really is a beautiful bird!  We used the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch (item #118874) to make the flower in the top left corner and used the Hearts Framelits (item #125599) to die cut the hearts under the bird. 

The leaves (from the Day of Gratitude Stamp Set item #120835 wood or #121148 clear) were embossed using VersaMark ink and Clear Embossing Powder then cut out and adhered under the bird.  The cardstock used is Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Lucky Limeade, and Very Vanilla.  We also used the Polka Dot Embossing Folder, the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set, and the Everyday Enchantment DSP.
