Stamps For All Things Stamp Set Paper Blackberry Bliss Cardstock Sahara Sand Cardstock Whisper White Cardstock Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper Watercolor Paper Ink Blackberry Bliss Classic Stampin' Pad Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' Pad Accessories & Tools Color Me Autumn Washi Tape Linen Thread Gold Basic Metal Buttons Stampin' Dimensionals Aqua Painter Spray bottle and water

Instructions

1. Fold the Sahara Sand Cardstock in half to create the card.
2. Tear the bottom of the 4-5/8" x 3-3/8" Blackberry Bliss Cardstock to create a distressed edge and adhere it to the card.
3. Stamp the leaf images in Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake, and Crushed Curry ink on the 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" Watercolor Paper. Spritz the stamped images with water. Stamp "For you" in Crumb Cake ink under the leaf images.
4. Ink a wet Aqua Painter using the Blackberry Bliss pad, then tap the Aqua Painter on your finger over the card to spatter ink onto the stamped Watercolor Paper.
5. Tear the Watercolor Paper to create a distressed edge and adhere it to the card.
6. Stamp the banner shape in Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Stamp "Grateful" in Crumb Cake ink on the Crushed Curry banner shape. Cut out the banner shape and adhere it to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.
7. Tear a 1-1/2" x 1/2" piece from a sheet of Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper (Soft Suede diamond pattern). Adhere it to the card.
8. Adhere a 2" strip of Color Me Autumn Washi Tape (Blackberry Bliss) to the front of the card.
9. Thread Linen Thread through the Gold Basic Metal Button and adhere it to the card using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I’ve been anxiously waiting for today for months and months. It’s finally here! Some of you who attended Inspire. Create. Share. in July may have already seen the latest stamp set from Stampin’ Up! Ten lucky attendees even took it home (and I hope they’ve been having some fun with it). For the rest of you who haven’t seen it yet . . . drumroll, please . . . and can I get a Yee-Haw?!

For those of you who attended convention—especially those who came to the Stamps, Ink, and Paper class— you’ll have heard the story behind this stamp set. I was given an assignment late last year to carve a stamp set with the Undefined Stamp Carving Kit for a Stampin’ Success article. “Howdy” was the first image I carved. I’m not sure why I picked that word. I’m not a country girl. I’m not a fan of country music. I do love to say “howdy.” Maybe it’s just my attempt to spice up “hello.” Whatever the reason, it was the spark that lit the inspiration fire that resulted in the Yee-Haw Photopolymer Stamp Set.

I had a lot of fun doodling this stamp set. I knew I wanted some imagery to go with all of the fun sentiments. The lasso is probably my favorite piece and was designed to fit around Howdy, Rootin’ Tootin’, and Yee-Haw.


My second favorite image is the sheriff’s badge. The “sheriff” sentiment was purposely left separate from the badge so that you could easily write in someone’s name, then pin it to a shirt or bandana. It also makes an adorable tag for a gift.

This stamp set isn’t just for Texans, although I know a few who will love it (Erica, Lydia . . .)! Here are a few samples that show how the images can be used to make a soft, pretty card or a sweet little card for a baby shower, a fun thank you note for a friend, or a colorful celebration card.

A Stampin' Up New Year's Resolution

This Post is from the Stampin' Up Blog and was written by Melody H, a Stampin' Up Concept Artist, click here to go to it.    I'm posting it because stampers must think a lot alike - I did the same thing this year!  I gave cards to my sister and niece, and I had my customers come over and go through my swap cards to put together their own card gifts!

 "Continuing a Resolution"

In January, I decided that one of my resolutions for the year would be to work on my Christmas gifts throughout the year (instead of driving myself crazy during the last three months).  I love to give hand-stamped cards. To me, they are the gift that keeps giving because they're meant to be given away to someone else.

My relatives have expressed a need for cards—sometimes more often than I can make them. My goal was to make enough cards to give everyone a stack they can use throughout the year.

Many of the cards I gave away this year were from kits that were left over from my monthly card class. Some were from other random creating sessions. I loved that I had a purpose for what I was creating and it was fun to see the box I was storing the cards in fill up as the year went on.



I purchased a couple of the Festive Flurry Ornament Kits and used them as the embellishments on each gift.



It was so fun to see everyone's reactions as they flipped through the cards. I feel as if the packs of cards were a huge success, so I'm going to make it a tradition.

Merry Christmas and some Stampin' Up Holiday cards!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas celebration with family and friends!  I also hope that you all have a New Year filled with joy and good health.  As I look to next year, I pray that I can handle the challenges ahead; this past year and a half have truly been difficult for me.  Since my husband passed, I feel like half of me died with him; I now understand how Humpty Dumpty can't be put back together again. 

I know that all of us face some kind of challenge daily, so I pray for all of us.  Living is hard, but have faith that you will be guided to a better place and given the strength to deal with whatever comes your way. 

So, for now, let's stamp and think about pretty things!  Here are some cards I've made the past couple of months.  A couple were inspired by cards I saw on our Demonstrator website made by fellow demonstrators Dee Slater, Kay Kaltoff, and Lorri Heling (thank you fellow demonstrators!), a couple are from Kits in the Holiday Mini Catalog, and a couple are from my imagination!

Stampin' Up "Gee, Thanks" card tutorial

Here's a Stampin' Up Technique Tutorial featuring the Really Good Greetings stamp set and Washi Tape.  You can't see it well, but they used Brushed Gold cardstock to make the card.  This card must be really striking when you see it "live"; photos usually don't capture how beautiful a card really is!

Flower Pot Note Card made with Stampin' Up's Secret Garden Bundle

The inspiration for this card came from a fellow demonstrator, but now I can't remember who it was (I'll find the name this weekend and update then).  I saw it on our Demonstrator website; Stampin' Connection.  Thank goodness for the website because you just always need inspiration!

This card was made using the  Secret Garden Stamp Set and Framelits.  The colors are Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade, and Whisper White.  After I die cut the flowers, I curled them with my bone folder then sponged around them with Tangerine Tango ink to give them more appeal.  The Designer paper I used is now retired, but any colors would look great on this note card!  I made the card to fit into a regular sized envelop, so it's about 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

Stampin' Up Dress Up Framelits Card

Hello everyone - I'm so happy that the Dress Up Framelits made it to the NEW 2013-2014 Catalog!  I know you've all seen these dresses everywhere, but I just wanted to show you one more example.  The patterned paper is from the Comfort Café Designer Paper pack (now retired).  Cardstock colors are Soft Suede, Pool Party and Very Vanilla.  The phrase is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and I cut it out using the Bitty Banners Framelits.   And finally, the two ovals were die cut using the Ovals Framelits; I ran the scallop oval through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
